Research overview
Our laboratory focuses on RNA viruses that pose global threats, including influenza virus, SARS-CoV-2, and mosquito-borne viruses such as Zika and dengue.
Rather than studying the viruses in isolation, we take a comprehensive approach—analyzing the host immune responses, mosquito vectors, and environmental factors involved. Through this integrated perspective, we aim to deepen our understanding of infectious diseases and develop new strategies to prevent future pandemics.
In parallel, we are dedicated to advancing next-generation vaccine development and establishing innovative methods for infectious disease control. In addition, we are committed to advancing GMP education as a bridge that connects basic scientific discoveries to society. Our goal is to build a system in which academia-driven vaccine development and pharmaceutical innovation can progress more actively from UTOPIA.
Through international collaborations and partnerships with domestic and global research institutes, our mission is to share knowledge and technologies that contribute to combating infectious diseases on a global scale.
